ABL teamed with SCL Engineering and Schurman Construction to win the design build competition for a sewage treatment facility at a luxury golf resort in Brudenell, Prince Edward Island. An ABL-SBR having four SBR tanks was constructed with a capacity of 173,000 GPD. Special attention was paid to plant aesthetics, with tankage and equipment enclosed to eliminate noise and odour concerns.

The system is completely controlled by PLC and was provided with a SCADA system using Trihedral Engineering's VTS software. The operator interface is a pentium grade computer which allows the operator to trend process parameters such as flows and tank levels. The program developed for this plant offers the operator access to all variables which can optimize plant operations. Excess sludge is wasted according to a control program and the sludge digestion system is designed with a controlled aeration, settle and decant cycle to thicken the digested sludge.

ABL operated the plant through the commissioning and a stringent performance testing period, and provided training for the owner's staff.
